Amy Woschek Schmidt is a writer and essayist living in rural Panamá.

Before moving with her family to Panamá, she homesteaded on a small acreage tucked among the tall pines and aspens of Lake Superior’s northern shore. Much of her work is informed by the years she spent working the land and walking the woods.

Her work has been published in numerous journals including Radar Poetry, Rattle, Taproot, Smartish Pace, and Harpur Palate. A series of her poems were recently commissioned put to choral music by various composers. Bel Canto, a midwest choir, performed these pieces in April, 2024. She has a chapbook of poems, Given Days, forthcoming from Final Thursday Press.

I’d love to hear from you.
